For primary teachers wanting help with art assessment, Diane Mitchell Consultancy runs workshops on children's drawing from pre-level A to beyond level E. The courses aim to help teachers understand the progression and development in drawing from P1 to S2 and would be helpful to secondary staff teaching expressive arts 5-14 and interested in primary-secondary liaison.

The workshops show teachers drawings of faces, figures, plants and animals, done by children of different ages. They are then asked to assess them and discuss any issues arising.

A school-based workshop for up to 20 teachers costs pound;200. A drawing workshop can be offered alongside for an extra pound;50 (materials included). The duration is two hours. It can also be offered as a twilight session.
