Bug Busting: head lice a go go

21st September 2001 at 01:00
The nit nurse used to be associated with embarrassment and foul-smelling chemicals (see feature on the history of child welfare, page 12). Two videos suggest that happier treatments are here. Follicel promotes an odourless, non-toxic lotion, while Bug Busting: head lice a go go illustrates the use of conditioners, warm water and combs. Bug Busting gives useful information on the life cycle of the head louse, enabling parents to monitor treatment. If all goes well, you'll never need to watch the crawling stars of either film again. Follicel Lotion (pound;7 for 100ml, pound;17 for 500ml) is available from Follicel, 418 Oakshott Place, Walton Summit, Bamber Bridge, Preston PR5 8AT. Tel: 01772 696930; fax: 01772 696950; email: sales@follicel.com; website: www.follicel.com Bug Busting costs pound;9.95 (pound;12.50 for video plus kit including instructions, combs and cape) from Community Hygiene Concern, Manor Gardens Centre, 6-9 Manor Gardens, London N7 6LA.
