JUNE 7-8. FOOD IN THE FIELD: SEE, SMELL AND TASTE THE PAST.

Napoleon famously said "An army marches on its stomach". Find out how and trace the evolution of army cooking from Tudor times to the present at this free weekend of special events at the National Army Museum, Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea, London SW3. Historical interpreters camped outside will demonstrate cooking in the field and answer questions on what soldiers ate and how they obtained it, be it by fair means or foul. Plus talks, themed trails for children and craft workshops. Tel: 020 7730 0717 ext 2210 www.national-army-museum.ac.uk
