Science conference

The Xplora project - the European gateway to science education, run by European Schoolnet - is holding a conference at Cern, Geneva. Presentations and workshops will include ICT in science and the role of science centres in education.

French conference

July 14

At this French Linguascope conference in Colchester on Bastille Day, speakers from Canada, Finland and Denmark will talk on the theme "Idees d'ailleurs" (alternative methods and resources). Fee: pound;79.


Tea at 3. June

Schools are invited to organise tea and cakes parties any day this month in aid of Help the Hospices. Fundraising ideas, lesson plans, assemblies and a free teaching pack for ages 11-14 are available online.


Llangollen eisteddfod

July 4-9

There will be a welcome in Denbighshire for those attending the 60th international music festival. The programme includes Bryn Terfel, Katherine Jenkins and Carl Davis.


Maths scholarships
