* The annual BETT educational technology show is one of the largest of its kind in the world. But parents do not get a look-in, even though hardware and software producers are targeting the growing home market. Now the BETT organiser, EMAP Education, is considering opening up the show for one day for parents, as 62 per cent of visitors to last year's show thought this would be a good idea.

Bett 1996 will be held at National Hall, Olympia, London on January 10-13. Details from EMAP Education, Greater London House, Hampstead Road, London NW1 7QZ. Tel 0171 388 2430.
