Call for more after-hours activities

SCHOOLS should offer more out-of-hours activities such as breakfast clubs and Saturday music sessions, the Government has said.

Launching a "toolkit" with tips on expanding after-school programme, Jacqui Smith, education minister, said the Government wanted to make it easier for schools to organise these activities. Tips include pointers for headteachers on avoiding staff overload.
