Can you dig it?

27th June 2003 at 01:00
It may be a little short notice for some of you, but if you can, don't forget to desecrate your garden this weekend (June 28-29) as part of The Big Dig, described by instigator Channel 4 as "the biggest ever mass archaeological dig of a back garden". Don't worry if you can't as the fruits of this huge endeavour are going on to a new history website created for Tony Robinson's popular Time Team who want you to dig a test pit in your back garden (1 metre square and 60cm deep) and then tell Channel 4 what you found.
