Nigerian drumming and dancing (pictured), delicacies from across the world and presentations of pupils' writing marked a recent Knowsley-wide celebration of cultural diversity. Pupils from primary schools across the Merseyside authority took part in the project, in which they were visited by a Zimbabwean storyteller, a Chinese artist, a Hindu dancer and a Japanese origami expert

Year 5 and 6 pupils from Geoffrey Field junior school, Reading, spent the first week of their Easter holidays at Rhos-Y-Gwaliau outdoor education centre in North Wales. Teacher Grant Strudley sent us this picture of two pupils exploring a disused slate mine Children at the soon to be opened Windmill primary school in Telford, Shropshire, meet and greet their new headteacher, Alison Lamputt, and deputy head, Mark Gibbons. The new primary has been created by the merging of two other Telford primaries
