Cash to make museums 'dynamic';In Brief

ALAN Howarth, the arts minister, announced that museums and galleries were to receive pound;1 million to develop education work and make them "dynamic centres of learning". The seven English Area Museums Councils, which aid the work of local and regional museums, can apply to a pound;500,000 Museum Education Challenge Fund. A second pound;500,000 will help museums improve information technology displays.
