Catholic head backs sex change

THE headteacher of a Roman Catholic school is supporting a female teacher who is undergoing a sex change.

Parents of children at the Blessed Robert Johnson Catholic college in Wellington, Telford, Shropshire, have been informed that technolgy teacher Mrs Lesa Armstrong will be known as Mr Sam Armstrong from Monday. A letter to parents from headteacher John Martin said that assemblies have been arranged this week to help youngsters understand "the unusual circumstances".
