Catholics proud of red noses

2nd February 2001 at 00:00
THE Catholic head who is calling for a boycott of Comic Relief's Red Nose Day (TES, January 19) is sadly ill-informed.

The Catholic Church has issued a statement in support of Comic Relief and Catholic schools are encouraged to become invloved.

A imilar statement was issued in 1999 by the Catholic media office.

Catholic schools are proud to be involved in this worthy cause and will be active participants in Red Nose Day 2001..
