Celebration of a life

Anne Jarvis, who became chair of the Association of London Government's education panel after 30 years in teaching, will be remembered at a celebration of her life at the Institute of Education in London.

Neil Kinnock, the former Labour leader, David Puttnam, the film director, and Steve Sinnott, general secretary of the NUT, will be among the guests at the event on September 18. Actress Paula Wilcox will read an extract from an article Mrs Jarvis wrote for the TES.

All those who knew her are invited to attend.
