Two chief advisers have been appointed to lead regional versions of the London Challenge educational improvement project. Mel Ainscow, a professor of education at Manchester University, is the chief adviser for the pound;50m Greater Manchester Challenge. Professor Sir Geoff Hampton, pro-vice chancellor of Wolverhampton University, is chief adviser to the pound;28m Black Country Challenge.
