Child protection

9th February 2007 at 00:00
Children in Scotland is running a training workshop for teachers, youth and community workers, and childcare professionals who work with children.

The one-day workshop (Edinburgh, February 27; Glasgow, May 18) will explore the steps organisations should take when they are concerned that a child could be at risk of harm or abuse.

It will cover relevant legislation and the role of the child protection agencies; the Scottish Executive's child protection reform programme; the nature of abuse and how it is categorised; how concerns about abuse come to our attention and how they should be managed; the role of a designated person for child protection and internal and external referral procedures; and good practice in relationships with parentscarers.
