The schools' programme for this year's Book Festival runs from August 19-25, with simultaneous events taking place in four different venues around Charlotte Square each weekday at 10am and 1.45pm. Writers include Iain Banks (The Crow Road), Melvin Burgess (Junk), Gillian Cross (The Demon Headmaster), Berlie Doherty (Daughter of the Sea), Mairi Hedderwick (Katie Morag) and a host of storytellers from Africa, the US and Australia.
