Montrose Academy has won this year's National Youth Parliament Competition, organised by the Citizenship Foundation and sponsored by Norwich Union.

Teams of 12-18s re-created the Scottish parliamentary chamber in their school, youth group or local council chamber. Montrose debated a bill to revise the sentencing procedures to facilitate the rehabilitation of prisoners.
