City network

The article on the launch of Norwich and Hull's learning city initiatives (TES, September 20), included reference to the Learning City Network.

I would point out that this is a network of 12 cities - Milton Keynes, Liverpool, Nottingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sunderland, Derby, Sheffield, Birmingham, Norwich and Hull - which have come together to support and promote lifelong learning as a key ingredient to economic and social regeneration. The article infers, incorrectly, that the network "oversees" development and that I am its "director".
