Editor writes: we apologise to the City of Peterborough for the incorrect figure for free school meals. Liverpool's schools improved their English results by 3.44 percentage points, compared with a 2 point rise nationally. In maths their results fell by 4.78 percentage points, a larger drop than the 2 point dip nationally.
