Cleared over golf club theft;In brief

THE HEADTEACHER of Dollar Academy's junior school who resigned after being found guilty of stealing a golf club at Gleneagles has had his conviction quashed by the appeal court. Three judges said that remarks by the sheriff in the trial of Kenneth Milton gave rise to the risk that justice had not been seen to be done.
