Childcare services could close if demands for better skills lead to higher wage costs, claims a survey funded by Lloyd's TSB Scotland and carried out by the Social Enterprise Institute at Heriot-Watt University. Better qualified nursery nurses and childminders may force up wages. Stiffer regulation of the sector is also adding to burdens.
