HIGHLAND is formalising links with the group that runs an independent S1-S4 school, with eight pupils, on the remote Scoraig peninsula. Under an arrangement put to the education committee this week, the teaching group wuld be included in the council's quality assurance scheme and broadly follow national curriculum advice. A grant of pound;36,000 will be paid on the basis of the pound;4,545 equivalent cost of a pupil at Ullapool High.
