PARENTING tips from the rich and famous: How to get dozy children out of bed, by Lord Puttnam. At a recent conference of education officers he revealed he used "a cold flannel on my son - and if necessary ice cubes". He and his son are apparently still on speaking terms, and he adds that it's time we stopped negotiating with our children. Mainly because they're so much better at it than we are.
