The Young Geographer of the Year competition organised by Geographical Magazine and the Royal Geographical Society invites students to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ascent of Everest (May 29) by writing a magazine article entitled: "Everest - yesterday's exploration, today's package holiday, tomorrow's ...?" Entries will be judged in three categories (under 12s max 500 words; 13-15 max 800 words; 16-18 max 1,500 words) and the closing date is March 30. Further details www.rgs.orgeducation
