TODAY'S ENGINEERS MAKE LIFE FUN

Eleven professional engineering organisations are challenging British five-to-seven year-olds to draw or paint a picture by April 6 illustrating how engineers help us enjoy our leisure time. A poster and notes have been sent to schools to help teachers explain the theme. The winner will receive pound;75, a British Airways flight for two adults and one child to any European destination and pound;1,000 for their school to purchase technology equipment. Second prize is pound;50, a family return ticket to Disneyland Paris from London and pound;750 for the school. Details: The Engineering Council, 0171 240 7891.
