The 20056 Jaguar Maths in Motion Schools Challenge is open to ages 10-16 in state schools. Using Cambridgeshire Software House's Cars - Maths in Motion software, schools will run a series of internal races and send the winner to a regional heat in spring 2006. The final takes place at Jaguar Cars, Castle Bromwich in June. Prizes are provided by i-desk, Casio and Economatics.

The United Kingdom Mathematics Trust runs annual Maths Challenges for students aged 11-18. High scorers can participate in further rounds, including the Junior Olympiad, the British Mathematical Olympiad and the International Olympiad. The papers contain 25 multiple-choice questions.

For the Olympiad competitions, students are also required to explain their arguments. Dates for the 20052006 Challenges are: Senior (November 8; closing date October 21); Intermediate (February 2; closing date December 9); Junior (April 27; closing date February 24).
