Primary, secondary and special schools in England, Wales and Northern Ireland can apply to be accredited for an International School Award. Successful schools receive a certificate and logo that can be used for up to three years. Closing date for applications is July 31. Win a free year of study in Japan with the Shizuoka Board of Education's third international translation cmpetition. Submissions (in English or German) are invited from all over the world in either the fiction or literary criticism category. The two grand prize winners will receive a cash prize of 1 million yen (about US$10,000) and grants to study in Shizuoka. Closing date: December 15.
