Comprehensive affair

A film about a teacher at a London comprehensive who has an affair with one of her pupils has been nominated for four Oscars.

Dame Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett were nominated for best actress and supporting actress respectively for their performances in Notes on a Scandal, which is based on a novel by Zo Heller.

The film also received nominations for best adapted screenplay and original score.
