7th March 1997 at 00:00
Languages in context" is the theme of Language World, the annual conference and exhibition of the Association for Language Learning, to be held at Keele University, April 11-13.

Intensive practical day courses will cover: issues in studying languages after GCSE; coming to terms with GNVQ courses; bringing GCSE to life; making use of LINGUA funding; information technology; and primary language teaching.

As well as Frances Morrell's plenary session on "Continent Isolated", in another session, Isobel McGregor, modern languages specialist for HMI in Scotland, will discuss the Scottish perspective.

Topics to be covered in talks and workshops include dyslexia in the context of bilingualism and multilingualism; using satellite news broadcasts; and sharing communicative ideas for Russian. Fees are Pounds 30 to Pounds 115 depending on whether delegates are attending for all or part of the conference or are eligible for concessionary rates. On-campus accommodation available.
