The Association for Science Education's annual conference will be held at Leeds University, January 6-8, preceded by an international day on January 5. During the autumn term, a west of England conference will take place at the University of the West of England, Bristol, September 25.

Speaker: Catherine Aldridge, director of the new Regional Science Learning Centre at the @Bristol science centre. Fee for teachers: pound;65, pound;50 members (concessions available for technicians and students). Other area conferences will be held at Bodmin College, October 9, and Thames Valley University, Reading, October 16.
