* Micros and Primary Education is holding a conference at Reading University from March 29-31 on the theme "Forward with IT". Strands to be covered in workshops on Acorn, PC and Mac platforms include: using information, art and imagining, optimising hardware and mixing systems. * The National Children's Bureau is running a conference on March 6 at 8 Wakley Street, London EC1, entitled "Prevention as a focus for work with children and families". Co-organised with the Health Visitors' Association, it will examine areas such as parenting and family support, children in need, and working with behavioural problems and within the family culture. Fees from Pounds 120 plus VAT, Pounds 80 plus VAT voluntary organisations. Part of the Bilingualism and Languages Network's communication, language and literacy series, it will include an address by Professor Wynne Harlen, director of the Scottish Council for Research in Education.
