WedelMusic, a conference on music through the Web, will be held at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Scientific Research in Music, Leeds University, from September 15 to 17, alongside an interactive MusicNetwork open workshop (MusicNetwork is a European Commission-supported project on new technologies). Topics will include music manipulation and analysis, music for impaired people, viewing and listening tools, music editing and manipulation, education, imaging and music sheet digitalisation.

Instrumental and singing teachers can try out the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music's Certificate of Teaching course for pound;10 at taster sessions in Glasgow and York (May 10), Bristol and Manchester (May 17) and London (May 31). They run from 9.30am-1pm. Open to any teacher at any level, the part-time course equips them with up-to-date tools to keep their teaching fresh and energised.

Training provider Stands for Education is running a course called "How to motivate, engage and inspire all pupils through effective composition and singing strategies in KS3 music" in Birmingham on April 4, and in London on April 10. Fee: pound;195 plus VAT.
