As heidies of the denominational variety will know all too well, it's the confirmation season, when names are chosen out of books of saints, or, more likely nowadays, by surfing internet sites such as

One parish priest, visiting his local primary, asked a little girl what her chosen name was.

"Rachael, Father," she replied.

"But Rachael's an Old Testament name, so she never was a saint?"

"No she's no'," asserted the girl, "she's a singer with S Club. That's why A'm wantin' to be Rachael."
