Construction Industry Training Board

9th February 2001 at 00:00
The Construction Industry Training Board maintains professional standards by encouraging companies to provide training. With McDonald's Restaurants, it has produced Building a Restaurant, a CD-Rom for schools. The service is efficient. Simple clicks take users to activities at three levels. Primary pupils can design a tiled floor or explore the geometry of roofs and brickwork. Secondary students can model a complex seating plan or mp out a car park in line with health and safety requirements. At post-16 there are more advanced problems. It all offers much more than fast food for the mind.

Building a Restaurant is free through participation in associated in-service. For information contact Irene Andrews. Tel: 01485 577 643. Fax: 01485 577 497. Or write to her at CITB Bircham Newton, King's Lynn, Norfolk PE31 6RH. email:
