Cook shows off class catering

Pasta, smoky bacon, and raspberry jelly may not be many people's idea of haute cuisine. But for Sharon Armstrong, cook at Caedmon comprehensive, in Whitby, North Yorkshire, it is an award-winning culinary combination. Ms Armstrong, who prepares 450 meals a day for 11 to 14-year-olds, this week beat almost 200 entrants to be named school chef of the year by the local authority caterers' association.
