MAY-JULY LESSONS IN POP

The new National Centre for Popular Music in Paternoster Row, Sheffield, is running workshops and seminars for students aged seven upwards, which are free to visiting school parties. Topics include: world music, composition, "root to the rhythm" and street dance. Bookable in advance on 0114 296 2626.

MAY 10-13 SECURITY SEMINARS

Seminars to be featured at the International Fire and Security Exhibition organised by the British Security Industry Association at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, include: securing your premises, emergency planning and how to operate CCTV systems. Details: 01905 727711.

MAY 21-22; JUNE 25-26 MATHEMATICS AND SPECIALEDUCATIONAL NEEDS

Biennial course led by Professor Paul Ernest at School of Education, Exeter University, for teachers of children with learning difficulties or with exceptional talents in mathematics. Meetings Friday 7-9pm, all day Saturday. Fee: pound;205. Details: 01392 264838.
