Cricket Scotland has announced the appointment of Jan Stander, a South African, as cricket development officer in Grampian. The 23-year-old, who plays for Aberdeenshire in the Scottish National League, has a solid coaching reputation, having graduated from the Eastern Province Cricket Academy.

Andy Tennant, Scotland's national youth development manager, says: "This post will provide young people in Grampian with better access to cricket in many ways, including increased opportunities to experience and play the game in primary schools, clubs and local authority programmes.

"It is a tremendous opportunity for cricket clubs to grab the support on offer and put junior development to the top of their agenda."
