West Nottinghamshire College is hoping guests will be hit for six at a fundraising event at Lord's cricket ground in aid of a new education centre for young people not in education, employment or training (Neets)

In the absence of capital investment from the Learning and Skills Council, principal Asha Khemka wants to raise the pound;500,000 needed for the centre in Mansfield through her Inspire and Achieve Foundation. Guest speakers at the event, to be held on March 5 in the historic Long Room at Lord's, include former England cricket captain Graham Gooch and former India cricketer Farokh Engineer.
