Crime cadets

Jim Knight, the schools minister, has warned MPs that criminal gangs are infiltrating schools in London, Manchester and Birmingham.

He told the Commons education select committee there was evidence of secondary school pupils using younger siblings in primary schools as "runners".

Guidance on tackling gang-related bullying will be issued to schools next year.
