Cupboard assault

16th October 2009 at 01:00

A teacher who carried a pupil and put him in a cupboard after hearing him telling a racist joke has been found guilty of assault.

Michael Becker of Stutton, Suffolk, denied assaulting the child, who cannot be named for legal reasons, at his trial at South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court last week.

The court heard how Becker, 62, picked up a youngster by the collar and trousers and then put the child into a cupboard outside his classroom. He will be sentenced this week.
