So farewell then Ian Welsh, MSP, leader of the Scottish Parliament's inquiry into special education, who quit to spend more time with his football club (Killie). And farewell perhaps to Ian Mills, directr of education in East Dunbartonshire, whose post is vanishing under council reorganisation.

Surely mere coincidence they both featured on the front of The TES Scotland before Christmas.
