A fun, interactive site about Finland is to be launched today for pupils aged 8 to 11.

The graphics in Kidzone Finland are based on the Moomins. A creative writing competition about the environment will be announced as part of the launch.

Jaakko Laajava, Finland's ambassador to the UK, said: "The website highlights some aspects that are unique to Finland, for example that some children can ski to school. But the message is that children share the same hopes and concerns regardless of culture."
