Deadline dilemma

One in 10 sixth-formers has missed a homework deadline because of part-time work, a survey by the Learning and Skills Council has recently discovered.

More than 14 per cent of 16 to 18-year-olds work part-time while they are studying, earning an average of pound;65 per week, according to the research.
