Deals slow to materialise

Figures collated by the College Lecturers' Association show pay settlements running at 3.27 per cent. Only 28 of the 47 colleges had reached agreement by February. The top earnings point of the lectuer scale confirms a widening gap in salaries from pound;23,796 at Bell College in Hamilton to pound;26,657 at James Watt College in Greenock, which has struck another three-year deal with its staff.
