Division head leaves for FE

Mike Harper, head of the teaching and learning division in the Assembly government's education department, is to take early retirement in March. Mr Harper, 58, is leaving to take up a research studentship at Cardiff university on reprofessionalising the further education workforce. His current responsibilities include teachers' pay, conditions, workload, and training, and school leadership.
