TWO British teachers jailed in the United Arab Emirates on drugs charges appeared in court on Tuesday to appeal against their sentences. Lynn Majakas and her colleague Ian Bamling, were jailed for four-and-a-half years last year after being caught with a small amunt of cannabis and bottles of alcohol.

Ms Majakas, 44, headteacher at Bedelsford school for special needs pupils in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, and Mr Bamling, 29, were arrested after arriving at Abu Dhabi international airport in October 1998.
