New Labour must have penetrated even the portals of Holyrood Secondary in Glasgow. For 23 years under the headships of Peter Poli and the politically correct Peter Mullen, the names of duxes were not painted on the school board of achievement.

Now medals and mural recognition are back. But what of the missing 23 years and all those deprived former pupils? There are no plans for retrospective acclaim.
