Pupils and accompanying teachers are invited to join Longleat's artist in residence, Mark Ashton-Barrett, in drawing, printing and plaster casting the human hand (they make handy bookends). AUGUST 9-SEPTEMBER 15 THE IMPOSSIBLE SCIENCE OF BEING: DIALOGUES BETWEEN ANTHROPOLOGY AND PHOTOGRAPHY Exhibition at Brighton Museum and Art Gallery of projected images, lantern slides, rare books and original prints of African, Asian and Pacific peoples juxtaposed with installations by British artists of Afro-Caribbean and Asian origins which question the history of the archival material. AUGUST 17 THE BIGGEST DANCE IN THE WORLD Part of Blitz '96, the South Bank's annual dance festival in London SE1. Participants will work with the Cholmondeleys' choreographer, Lea Anderson, and a member of the Featherstonehaughs troupe to make a new work for the ballroom.
