UNTIL MAY 18 HUMANITY UNDER SIEGE:THE WARSAW GHETTO

Manchester Jewish Museum has skilfully recreated the atmosphere of crowded Ghetto streets using a large 3D reconstruction, video, photos and detailed woodcuts by Polish artist Stefan Mrozewski. A central feature will be three "Survivor's Tales" displays using the personal effects, photographs and memories of local survivors. There will be a series of complementary events. APRIL 21 1996 A-LEVEL THEATRE STUDIES APPEAL

The Independent Appeals Authority for School Examinations will hear the appeal at Newcombe House, 45 Notting Hill Gate, London W11 at 10am. Open to the public. Details: 0171 243 9245.

APRIL 24 ART AND POWER

Art and Power, an organisation of disabled people, is giving a mixed media performance showcasing their film project, "Hear our voices: the Portway opera" at the Watershed, Bristol, 8pm. The event forms part of the city's first disability arts festival. Details: 0117 925 3845, minicom 0117 934 9070 (11am-8.30pm).

MAY 2 SCHOOL GROUNDS DAY

Schools in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will be carrying out a detailed survey of their grounds to help them make plans for improvements. In addition, they will show visitors around their grounds, make videos and find out more about how the grounds can be used as an outdoor classroom.
