UNTIL APRIL 11 LEADEN HEARTS: 19TH CENTURY CONVICT LOVE TOKENS The emotional anguish suffered by convicts about to be shipped off to Australia and their social life prior to deportation are revealed in this exhibition at the British Museum, Great Russell Street, London WC1. FEBRUARY 11-MARCH 27 TWISTED Motionhouse Dance Theatre premi res its tenth full-length production at Warwick Arts Centre and then takes it on tour to Exeter, Ormskirk, Newbury, High Wycombe, Telford, Cheltenham, Birmingham, Newport (Isle of Wight), Manchester, Leicester, Milton Keynes and Frome. Devised by the dancers, the piece begins with a news item about an airborne toxin released into the atmosphere which cannot be seen or smelt. FEBRUARY 15-19 ANIMAL MAGIC This half-term, children can have a go at producing animal sound effects, beastly mask-making, special effects animal face make-up, jungle and other backdrop film scenery design, and animation with an animal theme. These free drop-in workshops are being held daily, 10.30am-1pm, at the Museum of the Moving Image, South Bank, London SE1. Junior matinee films, such as 101 Dalmatians and Homeward Bound: the Incredible Journey, are being shown at the National Film Theatre next door, priced pound;1 for children, pound;6 for adults. FEBRUARY 22-MARCH 1 WHIZZ WEEK Children's charity Whizz-Kidz is running a fundraising week to raise awareness among children of the problems faced by disabled children and raise money for tailor-made wheelchairs, tricycles and walking frames. An accompanying poster explores mobility and equal opportunities as part of the personal, social and health education syllabus and suggests classroom-based activities and fundraising events for literacy hour, including a poster competition.
