Exploring new media

22nd April 2005 at 01:00
Last year Netd@ys Europe, an initiative promoting the educational use of new media and technology in the areas of youth and culture, challenged students across Europe to create a project on the theme of "Dialogue between cultures using image". In November the results of the best project competition were announced, with first prize going to a French website that allows users to navigate through the town of Terrasson-Lavilledieu with a few mouse clicks (ecm.terrasson.free.frprojet2004.html). The Netd@ys site features some 625 projects, which can search for by category, country, language, age, school type or keyword. It is available in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, with most projects in the entrant's native language.
